Orthodontic treatments in Alicante

Temporary dentition 4-6 years

Preventive orthodontics is performed between 4 and 6 years of age to correct or prevent the development of malocclusions before they become more serious.

Mixed dentition 6-12 years

Interceptive orthodontic treatment aims to intercept growth phase problems in patients between the ages of 6 and 12.

Permanent dentition + 12 years

These treatments focus on correcting more complex and permanent dental and skeletal alignment problems in children from the age of 12.

From a very early age it was always clear to me that I wanted to become a dentist. My father instilled this profession in me for as long as I can remember, passing on his love for it. So, in 2004 I started a degree in dentistry at the ‘Sapienza Università di Roma’.

Over time, I have seen that I am very passionate about this field, so I have never stopped training. For this reason, I continued my studies with two masters in orthodontics. One at the University of Rome, and the other at the University of Barcelona.

Over the years, I have been training in new techniques and treatments. In 2014 I achieved Invisaling certification, so that my patients get the smile they deserve.

Nowadays, I wouldn’t see myself doing anything else. This happens when your profession is a vocation. And in my case, dentistry is mine.

What is orthodontics?

The Spanish Society of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics (SEDO) describes orthodontics as a discipline that ‘analyses, prevents and corrects anomalies in development, the shape of the dental arches and the position of the jaws, with the aim of restoring the functional and morphological balance of the mouth and face, as well as improving facial appearance’.

It is recommended that the first consultation with the orthodontist should take place at around 6 years of age, making sure not to postpone it beyond the age of 7, just when the first permanent molars emerge and the base of the bite is established.

Early detection of possible dental or skeletal malformations that could affect the child’s normal development is essential.
